It is a new year and time for new starts. This blog really is just for me. A way to hold myself accountable; not only to New Year resolutions but to starting fresh and leaving all the C.R.A.P. from the last 10 years behind me.
Number 1: No dwelling on the past.
It is what it is. I cannot change it but I can move forward to bigger and better things. So I endeavor to not talk about it, not to dwell upon it, not to let it control my future.
Number 2: A positive and cheery outlook.
Science is finding that happy people are healthy people (putting it in simplistic terms). So as the song goes "Don't Worry, Be Happy". I figure a daily dose of compliments, passing on good wishes, and good news is in order.
Number 3: Look good and feel good.
Everyone includes weight loss/fitness in their resolutions, right? While I have a number of pounds to lose in mind, I'd rather focus on how I look and feel. Mostly I want to 'lose' the Baby fat since she is not really a baby anymore. Of course this includes a regimen of fitness.
Number 4: Vegan is not a four letter word.
So while related to number 3, I am a little more specific about my diet plan. I am going back on the ADA (american diabetes association) diet I followed while expecting. Plus, I am going off meat except for seafood once or twice a week. This way I can stave off diabetes and manage my colitis without drugs.
Number 5: Make a friend.
Actually, I would like to make a few friends, but one would be a good start. Being a hermit is overrated. It is high time I get back out there and be the social being I used to be.
While technically these are New Year's resolutions I am thinking of them more as New Life Resolutions. And, if anyone follows my blog I will think that it is funny. Like I said, it really is just for me. Let the New Life and New Year begin.
